So THIS is why I go to the grocery store so often. . .

Now that school has started, I make seven lunches each morning.

I know, the big kids could make their own.

I've heard that a thousand times.

And it's true, of course.

But honestly, I'm not going to have my 5 and 6 year old (or the Coach, for that matter) make their own and I really would rather make them all, myself, then try to make three with four kids in the kitchen.

Makes sense, doesn't it?

But a bit of useless information for you. . .to make seven lunches, it takes almost the whole loaf of bread.

And an entire bag of Baked Lays.

I'm just sayin. . .

  1. That's a lot of food. I'm sure your oldest boy is eating a ton these days. I remember when my brother was in middle school and high school. He really started eating a lot to keep up with all the sports he was in. :) Good luck with that!

  2. so at least 5 loaves a bread a week. Am I understanding that correctly. Whoa! Is everybody still a 1 sandwich eater? Or do they not have a choice :)

  3. Actually, Jo, I haven't gotten that far - because this is our first full week of school and I've never had six kids going. But I think that's about right. I was doing four loaves all Summer (per week), but the kids were eating other things, as well.
And I DO make Son #1 and the Coach two sandwiches. Sometimes I can send the Coach leftovers, instead.
It's really no big deal to MAKE the lunches - assembly line style - it just amazes me how much food it is.
    Happy Tuesday!
