The Grit that keeps on Giving

Spring Break has been lovely!

The change of routine, the sleeping late (yes, really) - and oh sweet loveliness - having the COACH HOME all day.

It's true bliss.

Not to mention that I haven't packed a single lunch bag or signed a single school paper.

Heavenly.

Today we headed back to the farm.
And for our 7 kids (and I'm sure Baby Boy would chime in if he could), it's all about FOUR WHEELERS.
And RANGER RIDES.

We used to say, "We JUST GOT BACK from taking a Ranger ride, wait a few minutes for another."

Now we just go.

Because it's fun.

And they are kids.

And life is short.

Even Champ the wonder dog got in on it. He seems to love to ride all over the farm on the seat of the Ranger with a kid's hand on his back.

Who would have thought?

And Baby Boy? Well, to tell you how much HE liked it, on Sunday he FELL ASLEEP. On the BUMPIEST ROAD EVER. With the blazing sun on his face and the wind blowing his wispy hair.

Fell asleep.
My kids were born for speed and dirt, apparently.

We had a great time, again, today.
But I can't get over how thoroughly everyone was COVERED in grit.
The bath water? Disgusting.
But they are all clean and fresh and tucked into their soft beds.

And the Coach is watching basketball.

Life is good.

Just in case you have no idea what a Ranger is:

Am I blogstalking you?

Lori Leigh said...

I mean, if a person leaves more than one comment per post, is that considered blogstalking?

Because if a blogger doesn't actually leave a post every single day, and one wants to check in and comment and say "hi" to said blogger, then one must comment on the current post, so that leaves one in a precarious position.... to not comment and feel sad that one has not said "hi" to one's friend on that day or to comment and be borderline blogstalker.....

Okay, I admit it.... I am SO blogstalking you! ha ha ha ha (evil laugh)

Would someone else PLEASE leave comments also? I mean, seriously, I've READ Mrs. Troop's sitemeter. I KNOW there are a lot of people reading this blog. I mean, if every one of you would just leave a comment saying "Wow, I love that post Mrs. Troop" or "You have such a great blog Mrs. Troop, you are truly an inspiration to us all" or "So tell us Mrs. Troop are you REALLY working on the rest of your story on how you met Mr. Troop or are you just sitting in your closet eating all the kids' Easter candy?" (Oh wait,... sorry, that was me.. ) I'm sure it would REALLY MAKE HER DAY and be so encouraging to her! Anyways, I think it would be a nice gift to Mrs. Troop if the rest of you would leave comments. Just one little comment... :)

Wow that is a great idea Lori Leigh. I've been reading Mrs. Troop for several months now and have really been enjoying her posts. It has just never occured to me to leave a comment. Thanks for that great suggestion! And THANK YOU Mrs. Troop for continuing this blog. It really has been an encouragment to me!

I did not know one could leave, how you say, comments? I am not a blogger and did not think I could leave a comment for others. I too am very thankful for you Mrs. Troop! I will try to do better to leave comments to let you know how much I enjoy reading your posts!

This is the song that doesn't end.... yes it goes on and on my friend.. some people started singing it not knowing what it was... and they'll continue singing it forever just because this is the song that doesn't end......

I was interested to read your blog. As a parent you may be interested in being part of a university study I'm involved with. It’s about how infants and children develop. It wouldn’t take much of your time, and it’s a great way to contribute to knowledge by reporting on your own experiences. For more details go to the following address after copying it into your browser window, www.babysleepstudy.org or go to www.milestonesresearch.org and click on "Baby Sleep." Best wishes, Rebecca
